Too Sensitive” Isn’t the Problem. It’s Your Gift
Experienced counseling for individuals and couples. From our first conversation, you’ll find that I’m easy to talk to. I’m not one of those quiet, clinical-type therapists; I openly and honestly share my perceptions and intuitions, and I ask lots of questions. While much of what we discuss will be serious, a sense of humor builds trust and strengthens relationships! PTSD. Trauma. Depression, Anxiety and Chronic Pain Emotional Abuse, Physical/Emotional Abandonment, Neglect, Sexual Abuse.

I’ve always been one of those people who feels everything.
Before I had the language for it, before I ever heard terms like Highly Sensitive Person or learned about what nervous system dysregulation means, I just knew that certain things hit me harder than they hit other people. I’d immediately notice the tension in the room. I heard the way someone’s voice quivered. I saw the shift in someone’s face before they even spoke.
Back then, I thought something was wrong with me… and me family wasn’t shy about telling me I was “too much”.
Now I understand: that sensitivity was never the problem. It was my highly attuned system.
People come to me because they’re overwhelmed. But when we start to listen more closely, it turns out their overwhelm is trying to tell us something:
Someone told us to stop before it was finished. Someone told us to hush before our words were expressed. To protect ourselves, we stored these things away. But they are not forgotten.
The mind may not remember, but the body does.
This is the work I do now…not to silence sensitivity, but to partner with it. To decode it. To follow the breadcrumbs of overwhelm back to where the system first learned: “It’s not safe to feel this much.”
You don’t have to turn down your sensitivity to heal. You just need someone who speaks its language.
